Who run the world? French Olympic figure skater Maé-Bérénice Méité, who on Sunday in Pyeongchang performed her short program to Beyoncé's anthem "Run The World (Girls)," and a cover of "Halo."
Though Méité's performance came in ninth place, it delighted viewers for its sense of fun.

Cosmopolitancaught up with Méité post performance to ask her a bit about her music selection.

"[Her music] is crazy, wild, and fun," she said, with a laugh. "You can just dance to it, and that's how I am."
As The New York Timesreports, this is the first year we're seeing Olympic figure skating performances set to songs with lyrics. The International Skating Union made the change back in 2014, apparently to keep younger viewers interested.
Fast forward to 2018 where figure skaters are hitting the ice to the likes of Ed Sheeran.
But Beyoncé? That's an artist choice we can get behind. Olympic silver medalist Ashley Wagner agrees.
